Lorenzo Insigne’s 19-goal haul in Serie A this year was his best ever scoring return in the Italian top flight.

It was Insigne’s highest scoring tally since the 2016/17 season, when he found the net on 18 occasions.

Only Cristiano Ronaldo (168) had more shots than Insigne (144) in Serie A this year.

The Napoli captain was the league’s top scorer from outside the box, with seven goals.

Lorenzo Insigne celebrated his 30th birthday in style as he found the net for Italy in a 4-0 victory over Czech Republic at the Stadio Dall'Ara.

The Napoli captain scored Italy's third midway through the second half then set up Domenico Berardi for the fourth, after Ciro Immobile and Nicolo Barella had given the Azzurri a 2-0 half-time lead.

Lorenzo Insigne helped Italy get their Euro 2020 campaign off to the perfect start as they brushed aside Turkey 3-0 in the tournament's inaugural match at Rome's Stadio Olimpico on Friday night.

Roberto Mancini's side dominated the encounter and after a goalless first half took the lead through a Merih Demiral own goal. Ciro Immobile then doubled the advantage before the Napoli skipper wrapped up the scoring with a neatly taken finish in the 79th minute.

Italy are through to the quarter-finals of Euro 2020 after seeing off Austria 2-1 in extra time at Wembley.

Following a goalless 90 minutes, substitutes Federico Chiesa and Matteo Pessina netted for the Azzurrri before Sasa Kalajdzic pulled one back for the Austrians late on.

Lorenzo Insigne was involved in the build-up to Pessina's goal and almost scored himself with a superb free kick. He played 108 minutes.
